[08/10/08 10:34am] [ mood | energetic ] so we had a family engagement party yesterday at kevin's house, my small family (me, dad, mom, and grandma) were there amongst kevin's huge family....there were about 35 people in total. it was really fun and was a great party. spent lots of time hanging out with the kids (so. many. kids.) and they rented a jumping castle shaped like a dinosaur which was pretty awesome, but very difficult to get into considering it is designed for children under 8 :s we weren't expectinf any gifts from people, but we figured you know a few people would bring us some small gifts out of curtisy....yeah well we were wrong, we got gifts from everyone who came! and some of them were wedding style expensive gifts: 7 piece comforter set picture frame 4 piece wine glass set 2 piece casserole set singing bee board game engagement journal cooler with 2 towels money 10 piece pots and pans set 11 piece knife set 50 piece silverware set i was blown away at the generosity of the guests. it was all so sweet and unexpected and very large gifts for an engagment party, i'm not sure whats left to get us for the wedding now as most staples were covered! all in all it was a wonderful party and a wonderful day! :D

[06/22/08 3:27pm] [ mood | sore ] O. M. G.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST NEWS EVER IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST LAST WEEK WE FOUND OUT THAT KEVIN GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE TRENT TEACHER'S COLLEGE PROGRAM! LATE ADMISSIONS IS THE BEST THING EVER! YAY FOR NO ONE WANTING TO GO TO TRENT AND OPENING UP SPACES SO KEVIN COULD GO! NOW I WON'T FAIL SCHOOL NEXT YEAR! I'M SO EXCITED! *** on a different note i am head supervisor at the farm this year which rocks my socks! (and unfortunately resulted in me getting one hell of a bad sunburn on the back of my legs, and a couple high school workers from the farm hating me but whatever!) i've been working my ass off this summer, since i've been home i've already worked 130 hours of preseason and close to 50 hours in the last week! to put it mildly i'm tired...but money is fantastic! but i pretty much do nothing other than work....any spare time i have is spent with kevin.... and my computer has been broken for the last week, i just got it back the other day....apparently when they came to put a 'smart meter' on our house and turned off our power they fried my computer and i had to have windows XP reinstalled....but every thing is fine now that i have it back.....but i have the updated versions of things and its weird, plus i had to reinstall a bunch of stuff, but i guess the best thing is that i didn't lose too much stuff....and it only cost me 113$ ooooooo! and i got new glasses, they're similar to my old ones but not at the same time, i like them..... i think thats all for now....hearts <3

As a result two of my fellow employees have quit. I am too considering quitting, but am not sure. I would be working the morning shift (6:30am-2:30pm) over the christmas holiday, a time when many robberies of both money and products are carried out. In the last 2 summers that i have worked at petro it has never been robbed, but i don't really want to risk it. essentially i want to know what you guys think i should do...should i quit now and give up my christmas shifts or work christmas break and then i will be done since my employment is terminated in february anyways? my mom thinks i should quit, and i am sitting on the fence

[11/19/07 3:09pm] so much going on in life right now! i would much rather still live in the simplistic world we once inhabited as children. i have apparently been fired from petro as of feb. 13th becuase our company has come under new management and everyone has been fired, so after christmas it is goodbye petro for me!...excited but not, i hated it there but it provided me with a steady income, with flexible hours.... i have 17 months to get both my G2 and my full G or i have to rewrite my G1 test and start all over from scratch. I've been working on it but i seriously don't know if i can do it all in 17months, especially when 14 of those are spent here, where i have no real access to a car other than the boyfriends. i hate my one class, no matter how hard i try i am just not doing what they teacher wants, which is really frustrating cuz i feel like i am, so i'm not entirely sure where i am going wrong, but she is thankfully giving us a chance to make up for it. and i have 19 days left of school with 6 assignments still to go in that time...no pressure at all! thankfully though the crazy housemate problem has been solved! she has decided to move out and will only be here until the end of december, so i don't have to put up with her and the hostile atmosphere for too much longer! thats all for now....but i have to go study for an exam now....that i have been putting off all day...hearts

[11/12/07 3:48pm] [ mood | blah ] it has been forever since i have posted...i never have any time anymore, i am always so busy with school, and kevin and my friends and more school and trying to enjoy this year that i have no time to write, plus there has been so much drama in this house this year, which has also taken up a great deal of my time. kevin took me driving this weekend, twice....obviously it didn't go perfectly, i mean i rarely get to practice when i am home, but he tells me i am a good driver i just need more practice at it, and i didn't do anything wrong, or hit anything or break anything...i was very proud of myself actually i did 6.5 hours of solid math in a row the other day trying to get a math project done....hopefully i will never have to ever do that much at once again as it killed my soul...and then afterwards, because it was 1:30 in the morning and i was on campus i went to catch the bus to go home....the bus didn't come until 2:30 (i thought it came at 2....) i got my socks, feet, shoes and pants wet walking to the library to catch the bus, it was snowing/raining and it was cold, and all of campus was locked so i couldn't wait inside.... my mom is getting back from being in B.C. tonight (she was there for a week...it was my cousins wedding) i have 2 tests, 3 presentations and 6 assignments due before december 7th.....JOY! (but i'm slowly working on them so it's not actually looking too bad at the moment) i'm also sick right now, but that seems to be slowly getting better...yesterday and today i noticed a much more "alive" feeling than i had in the days before i just watched an episode of BMW and Rick Nielson (guitarist from cheaptrick) was on the episode....made me very happy! there was something else i was going to say.... oh right - so not such good news - kevin is applying to teachers college right now, three of them: trent, nippising and lakehead.....he's applying to those cuz if he doesn't get in to trent he has the other two as backups instead of applying to trent and two others that are harder to get in to and possibly not getting in to them at all.....it will be terrible if he has to go anywhere but here, the other programs are so far away! btw....basher....did you ever get the mail i sent you? thats all i have to say for now! hearts <3

[09/17/07 10:05pm] [ mood | satisfied ] [ music | daisy duke - rooney ] so i just worte a nice long entry and some how lost it....so here it is in less words cuz i am not doing it again! i have a B12 defieciency.....my level is 146 and it should be between 165-750 (between 400-500 is recommended) which is why i am so tired all the time even though the mono is gone - now every month i have to get a B12 injection until the dr. decideds it has been long enough, and then i have to start taking B12 supplement pills and change my diet....JOY! i met kevins extended family yesterday .....11 cousins, sister and her bf, 4 aunts, 4 uncles, and grandparents! lots of people! and even though i was nervous and shy cuz thats the way i am i had a really good time, they are all really nice people (with the exception of kevins sister) and i'm glad i went!

[09/4/07 11:29pm] [ mood | tired ] [ music | bombshell - powerman 5000 ] wow! it has been a really long time since i last posted anything....13 weeks according to the little application that keeps track - so much stuff has happened in the last few months that i would be here forever recounting it all, so were just going to pretend that the last 4 months pretty much didn't happen, besides, if you are important to me than you already know or will know shortly when i get back to ptb. to generalize the last 4 months though i worked my ass off! - i worked 176 hours at the gas station (22 shifts) plus i worked 240 hours at the farm and by the end of this week i will be done 6 of the 15 days i need for my placement this year. and that is with losing 2 1/2 weeks of work to this damn mono and then having it slow me down after that, so much so that i still can't work a full day without having to take a nap. aside from working i tried to spend as much time as i could with friends, family and kevin: i went to visit ocean in ottawa twice, i went camping with the family twice and with kevin twice, i went to a wedding, a went to the april wine/cheap trick concert (absolutely amazing!), i went to the napanee fair, i spent canada day in coburg with kevin, packing and moving all of my stuff up to trent just the other day, spent 4 days in a row at kevins while his family was camping, spent time with ocean when she was home (which was...twice) and then of course there is all the other boring stuff that i had to do such as doctors and dentist appointments and getting my hair cut which takes up a lot of time. i, of course, also did a lot of shopping and hung out with basher, but not much seeing her and i were both very busy this summer and i never had the energy to do anything after work. all in all though i would have to say it was a pretty damn good summer! would have been better without the mono but whatever! i made tons of money, got lots of things done, spent as much time as i could with kevin, basher and ocean - it was a great summer i just wish it wasn't ending because i didn't really get all that much time to enjoy it! le sad but i am very excited to go back to school and start my classes and be with my friends and see kevin more than once a week and be in my room and on my own, although i am not looking particularily forward to actually doing the work that seems to come hand in hand with school.....but you have to take the good with the bad and i will gladly take it! see all my ptb friends soon! ohhhhhhh! i forgot to clarify the classes that i am now that i have known for awhile! i'm in hist of WWI, hist of women in canada, modern early atlantic hist, math for teachers and science for teachers!~ i am so happy that i got into both the math and the science! i just want to get them over with and i don't think they will be hard i mean it only goes up to either grade 6 or grade 8 (i can't remember which) so i think i should manage....if not it will be a sad sad sad day for me! lol hearts <3

[06/5/07 1:00pm] [ mood | bitchy ] so i registered for my courses today, and as usual, that was an interesting process - i'm not really looking forward to many of my classes for next year - i am only in 3 of them for sure, the other 2 are space fillers for now until i find out about the math and science courses i need for con-ed - and trent wouldn't let me take any fourth year courses, the thing kept coming up and telling me that i didn't have the necessary preresquites, which i don't know, may be because i havent completed any third year courses yet, cuz it did that for all 6 of the 4th year courses that i tried to get into but whatever so the courses i am in next year are: ~hist 316: history of women in canada ~hist 335: history of WW1 ~hist 3955: history of the early modern atlantic world ~hist 3957: canadian west: a history (which i might change to hist 3966: France and Britain:1800-2006...but thats one of the back up courses anyways so hopefully i won't even have to take it) ~ahcl 350: romance, fantasy and adventure (other back up) im not overly excited, i really wanted a 4th year course in there to make next year that much less work but i guess i can't do that - and my schedule really sucks - my monday and thursday are super busy and then i have 1-3 hours of class on tues, wed, and fri - i don't have a single day off, but lots of stupid short days....i hate trent

[06/4/07 11:27pm] [ mood | thirsty ] ive been trying to arrange my placement for con-ed next year for the last couple of weeks and so far all ive hit are dead ends - i thought i would try a religious based school this year so that i can gain the experience of what is like to teach in an environment different from the one i am used to....hahahaha! so we have a catholic school and a christian school in town, neither of which will take me - the catholic school won't take me even though i just want the experience because they see no point in me gaining the experience when i will never use it because catholic schools only hire people of catholic faith - and the christian school won't take me even though i am christian because i am not a practising christian, in order to even be considered i need to send in a cover letter telling them about myself as well as a pastoral reference - its rediculous - i could not believe today that i was actually turned down for a student teacher position because i donot share in their belief system, i couldnt belief that just like that i was relgiously discriminated against....so i'm gonna have to stick with the public education system and try the other 3 schools in town and see what happens tomorrow also i get to register for my courses tomorrow morning - hopefully that will all go nice and smoothly, although it is trent were talking about here so it prolly won't... hearts <3

[06/3/07 11:32pm] [ mood | sore ] [ music | check yes or no - george strait ] alright so em, this is mostly for your benefit cuz you wanna know so bad, i am finally getting around to posting about my bday! yay! so as far as the bday with the rents went, i got 2 dvds (remember the titans and stomp the yard), a 25$ gift card for chapters, bingo tickets and a t.v. with a dvd player attached to it! love the tv although dad still hasnt gotten around to hooking the cable up to it yet but itll be nice when i can watch tv in my room, especially with the mono and all and yeah it was low key just hung out with the rents and watched my new movies and had pizza and cheese cake (got a free pizza too cuz they screwed up our order and let us keep the one they screwed up and gave us the right one....we had a lot of pizza that night) kevin came up the next day and conviently both mom and dad worked so we had the house to ourselves, and we stayed here for awhile and then headed to kingston to family fun world....now the deal with family fun world was that the website said that they opened on May 12 this year, so we went (mind you we got lost in the process cuz we werent paying attention to the street signs) and then we get there and the people there are all no we arent open til the end of june - so needless to say i was extremely distraught as a result cuz i really wanted to do the rides, its the best part - so not knowing anything about kingston other then where the mall is and the movies we decided to go home (i had also planned a picnic afterwards but the weather was proving to be against us) so we drove back to napanee and went to springside park and walked the boardwalk which connects to centennial park which has a gazeebo and is really pretty so we had our psuedo picnic there and then we walked around and i showed him that part of town and then we walked back to the car and went to the movies and watched fracture (unfortunately we actually watched it there were other people in the theatre)  and then we drvoe around town for a bit and drove past NDSS and the lights were on and people were inside so we went in and i gave him a tour and showed him all around (he was afraid we were going to get in trouble) and then afterwards i took him over to TPCS next door in search of swings, there were none so we went to the highschools trackfield and walked around and sat on the bleachers for awhile and made out but it was too cold out so we decided to go find a place to park (hahahaha park...sounds funny) so i decided we should go to the fair grounds....the only place i could thin of other than springside park but its all lit up at night....so we get there and there is a baseball game going on at 10 at night so we didnt stay and i had to think of somewhere else to go (which btw is hard to do...there is no where to make out in this town that i know of) so we ended up going out past the flying j to the old mustang drive in (which my mom told me about the night before lol) which is closed down now (and fenced in) and found what must have been a four wheeler path leading into the brush beside the drive in so we parked there and made out til midnight and then kev had to go cuz he had class the next morning and couldnt stay too late which was unfortunate - it was a good birthday oh and the present he ended up getting me had 2 parts - 1 i got on my birthday and 1 on the camping trip...i wasnt expecting anything, wed only been dating a month so he had no idea what to get me - but he ended up getting me a 26er of vodka cuz most of the vodka i took to oceans party in ottawa got drank by others while i was incapacitated so he thought he would replace it, and it was something i needed on the camping trip...it was nice of him, and i appreciated it (i was going to post this when i wrote about the camping trip but i never did....the other part of my present form him was one of his sweaters, which i had mentioned in passing (i think at the party in ottawa) that i wanted one of his, he got me one out of his closet! yay for me!) but yeah all in all it was a good birthday - oh and kevin thinks napanee is really weird....his favourite part is the theatre, apparently it was worse then he imagined it would be - watching his reaction to everything that is everyday life to me was hilarious!! lol

[06/2/07 10:59am] hey guys, so this is not the exciting entry regarding all the fun things i have done in the last few weeks, but more of a warning i havent been feeling well for the past monthish now (mainly the last 2 weeks) ive been exhausted, fevered, dizzy, burning eyes, sore throat, plugged ears etc. - after a great deal of pain ive gone to the doctors and had all the necessary tests done and the results are in and i am positive for mono...awesome! so the deal with mono is its transmitted through saliva and blood, 90% of the people who have it don't even know that they do cuz it doesn't affect them, the other 10% (me) suffer very badly, but yeah i want all of you who have been in contact with me since april (sar and em) to keep an eye on yourself, if you start experiencing any of those syptoms i have go to the hospital - mono takes 4-7 weeks to present itself in the person, and ive only been home for a month so its very possible that i could have picked this up while still in ptb oh and you know what the best part is....i get to have this for the rest of my life...its like herpes, the virus lies dormant inside of you and can have an outbreak whenever it wants to - there is no cure for mono, there isn't even anything that they can give you like an antibiotic, all they do is give you a prescription for T3 to help ease the pain this sucks so much, i do nothing but lay at home and feel like shit, i haven't been able to go to either of my jobs for the last week which is awkward cuz i want the money, and i am kinda afraid that if i can't go to work at petro they may fire me... but yeah the point is, this is a serious virus, so keep an eye on yourselves for the next month, if you don't experience any symptoms by the end of june i would say you guys are in the clear (lucky bastards!)lol hearts<3

[05/27/07 11:08pm] [ mood | tired ] heya! wow so it's been like forever since i last posted anything - i have stuff to tell and i haven't been working much over the last few weeks so i have no real excuse as to why i haven't been keeping more up to date, but now that i plan to update i also have to head back to the farm tomorrow and prolly on an everyday basis for the next 2 months cuz its almost berry season again (YAY!) but on the downside that means i will be seeing kevin a lot less then i would like to between petro, the farm, life and all the things that he has to do....i really don't remember where i was going with this entry originally....*reads back to top* (that was a lot like talking to jenn right there what with her side stories and all) anyways point is: lots to say, will say it soon cuz right now i need to go to bed cuz i got farm duty in the morning hearts<3

[05/11/07 10:41am] my summer just keeps getting better and better! so dad got the job!!!!!! yay!!!! i am so excited - there were four other people at the test withdad and he saw the test results of 2 of them and he did better then them, he got a 96% on this test (the test was based on everything they learned that day (he pretty much had a lecture and then a test....i would have failed cuz i totally go space cadet in lecture) plus with dad having a job he is conviently working 7-3 on the day that kevin is coming for my birthday and mom is also conviently working 9-5 that day.....awesome how that worked out for me - lets just say we won't be leaving for kingston in a hurry....:D

[05/10/07 3:59pm] [ mood | sore ] [ music | listen to your heart - roxette ] so the farm isn't as cool this year....only cuz they are working me to death - in the last 3 days i have worked 20hours, which, granted isn't that much but it is when you spend 7 hours every day for three days in a row laying irrigation piping - normally it is my brother's job but with his being in NZ and all i got to take over...joy! i'm making great money doing it, but really its a bitch, it's a lot of hard work. other then irrigation work they've had me do lots of other new things on the farm too this year, i've tied raspberries (i look like i lost a fight with a gang of cats....my arms are all scratched up and bleeding and stinging), i've spudded one of the strawberry fields (removing dandiliions with a spud), and flushed the irrigation pipes after laying them....very went job i've acquired lots of new injuries in the last few days, a giant blister (like the size of a dime) on my finger from tying the twine on the raspberry bushes), i sliced a finger open from the irrigation pipes (eric pushes while i hook the pipes together...he pushed before i was ready...my finger was in the way....), all the scratches from raspberries, and of course one hell of a sunburn, but really it just wouldn't be right if i didn't get one.... my dad has the last phase of his job testing today, so when he gets home (prolly in the next 2 hours) he will either have a job or not....*nervous jitters* kevin has bought me a bday gift (6 days!!!!!) and has given me one hint and i can't figure out what the hell it is he got me, so turn on your creative brains, we're trying to figure it out cuz it's driving me nuts....me told me that what he got me i will need on our camping trip.....wtf! i have no idea what that means, cuz yeah there are a lot of things you need on a camping trip, but what sort of thing would you buy your girlfriend for her birthday off that list? ideas?

[05/4/07 8:16pm] [ mood | cheerful ] [ music | don't walk away - bethany joy lenz ] yay! for trent finally getting it's ass in gear and posting our grades~!!! i actually did really well this year - better than i did last year - 2 of my grades went up since midterm (the 2 that i wanted to focus on raising), 2 stayed the same and 1 went down, but it only dropped 2%, which i saw coming with that final exam that i had all of one day to study for....but yeah i'm happy and my final grade is 76% which kicks ass! yay!
